Spike Rush. This tiny (1/2" to 2" in height) rush-like plant grows in dense mats resembling grass. It is excellent for erosion control for ditches and slow streams; and is attractive as a ground cover on borders of water gardens. Mature height of 1-1/2" to 3". No shade.
