The large green pads of this plant stand up out of the water. A brilliant yellow flower comes up, on an erect stalk out of the water, looking almost like the American Lotus. It prefers ponds, sloughs, and dead waters up to 6' depth. No shade. The mature height is 12" to 24" above the water. April-November.
