Bloom Time: July–September. Purple flower. Medium to dry soil moisture; drought tolerant once established. One of the best pollinator plants for native bees and butterflies. Goldfinches love the seed heads in fall and winter. This plant has smooth stems and rough leaves with daisy-like flowers with spiny centers. It prefers dry open woods and prairies with no shade. The height at maturity is 2-3’. Deer resistant. Available until October 1st.
